Waxahachie ISD Launches tip411 Anonymous Tip System to Promote School Safety

Waxahachie Independent School District, as part of its continued commitment to increasing safety and security on campuses, is rolling out the tip411 anonymous tip system.

tip411 enables all members of the school community – students, staff, parents, and community members – to share important safety information anonymously with district and campus administrators by sending them secure messages with information about bullying, drug use, and suspicious or potentially criminal activity via a free smartphone app.

Developed by tip411, the Waxahachie ISD Tips app puts a powerful new safety tool into the hands of students and faculty to help them take responsibility for safety at their schools. The Waxahachie ISD Tips app can be downloaded for free via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

“Waxahachie ISD students excel in every area, from academics to fine arts to athletics and more,” said Dr. Bonny Cain, Waxahachie ISD Superintendent. “But our students can’t achieve if they don’t feel safe, and we believe the tip411 anonymous reporting system will add another level of safety and security to our campuses.”

“The tip411 system has been successful in communities across the U.S.,” said Terry Halsch, President of tip411.  “We are excited to work with Waxahachie ISD to bring our innovative app and text a tip system to connect and engage students directly to participate in promoting safety in their halls.”

Those without a smartphone can text tips anonymously to administrators by using their school’s unique keyword. Simply send a text message to 847411, begin the message with one of the following keywords, type in the information you wish to share, and hit send.  This will create an anonymous, two-way text conversation that administrators are able to respond to in real-time.
